How to apply for Exchange and Visiting Programs

Mahidol University welcomes international staff and students from all backgrounds and recognizes the numerous positive contributions they make to the on-campus experience. Therefore, a vital component of Mahidol University’s internationalization policy is concerned with promoting greater staff and student exchange. At the same time, local staff and students are also encouraged to study overseas or gain international experience in order to enhance their personal and professional lives and develop their international skills and perspectives.

Visiting Professors

Mahidol University welcomes those visiting professors from our partner institutions who wish to teach, conduct research, or share information with our scholars and students. Interested scholars should contact and discuss specific work plans or activities with their potential academic partners or program coordinators at Mahidol University.

Students

Exchange Program

Students from our exchange partner universities are eligible to spend up to one academic year or semester at Mahidol University. Exchange activities are normally based on an agreement to waive tuition fees. However, students are usually responsible for all other costs, including travel and visa expenses, accommodation and living expenses.

In order to apply to Mahidol University’s exchange program, you should contact International Relations Division and the International Affairs Office or relevant unit of your home university for more information to check whether it has an exchange agreement with us. If so, please check whether they have any additional requirements. If English is not your first language, you will also need to provide evidence of your English language proficiency. The minimum acceptable level for admission varies for different subjects, but is normally not less than a TOEFL score of at least 69 for the internet-based test or IELTS 6.0.

Interested students may also contact International Relations Division and the International Relations Division at opinter@mahidol.ac.th for more information.

Visiting Program

Students currently studying at a university without a formal exchange partnership with Mahidol University may also spend a study abroad year or semester with us as part of a visiting program. Unlike exchange students, visiting students usually must pay all the relevant tuition fees as well as other costs, such as accommodation, travel and visa expenses and living expenses.

Interested students may apply directly to International Relations Division and the relevant Faculty, Institute or College at Mahidol University. For a full list of Mahidol University’s Faculties, Institutes, Colleges and Centers, please >> click here
