Objectives:
- Encourage effective collaboration between academic teams from both institutions to drive exceptional research.
- Expand research initiatives in areas of shared interest, emphasizing scale and focus.
- Foster engagement at all academic levels by ensuring diverse compositions within research teams.
- Provide international research training opportunities.
- Establish a robust foundation for ongoing research collaboration, securing external funding.
- Support the formation of long-term strategic research alliances between the two universities.
- Actively promote and facilitate academic exchanges for research visits between both institutions.
- Amplify the visibility and global impact of collaborative research outputs through joint publications, presentations, and dissemination activities.
Funding information:
- Matched areas: Transportation and Robotics; Computer Vision & Graphics, Software Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning
- Funding Amount: Selected projects receive up to USD 20,000 (approximately THB 320,000 from Mahidol’s side).
- Eligibility: Academics employed at the University of Austin in Texas and Mahidol University are eligible to apply.
- Project Structure: Each proposal must include a Chief Principal Investigator (PI) from both the University of Austin in Texas and Mahidol University.
- Application Limit: A faculty member may serve as a Chief Principal Investigator on only one application per cycle. However, there is no limit to the number of applications a faculty member may join as a (co-investigator) team member.
- Selection Process: Competitive selection process involving review committees from both of the universities.
