The Virtual Workshop on Improving Online Teaching and Learning: Practical Workshops for Academics

On Monday 13th July 2020, Assoc. Prof. Naeti Suksomboon, Acting Vice President for Academic Affairs, provided opening remarks for the Virtual Workshop on Improving online teaching and learning: Practical workshops and welcomed participants to the first session of the virtual workshop. The first session was delivered by Prof. Garry Falloon, Professor of STEM Education and Digital Learning, and Director of International Engagement at the School of Education, Macquarie University. The workshop will take place from 13th July – 6th August 2020, via Zoom.

The workshop aims to improve online teaching and learning activities through; online curriculum planning, learning design, developing basic multimedia learning, and helping staff to apply the knowledge learnt to the Learning Management System of Mahidol University.

This program consists of two elements, featuring online courses in addition to the eight-day virtual workshop via Zoom. Forty academics from various faculties, all of whom have taught or will teach online courses or units, are participating in this virtual workshop. At the end of the workshop, all participants will receive certificates recognizing their successful completion and the development of their online teaching and learning skills.
