On Monday the 2^nd of April 2018, Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, Acting President of Mahidol University, along with Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Acting Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication, welcomed a delegation from the Yunnan Provincial Government, China, led by H.E. Mr. Li Xiaosan, Member of the Standing Committee & Head of the Organization Department, CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee. The purpose of visit was to develop collaboration between Mahidol University and universities in Yunnan Province, particularly Yunnan University. Mahidol University and Yunnan University agreed to initiate collaboration in many areas of mutual benefit, such as joint research and joint laboratories, staff and student exchange, and participation in South and Southeast Presidential Meetings. Mahidol University’s Faculty of Science, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, under the framework of the Medical Innovation Centre, agreed to establish collaboration with Yunnan University. Other faculties such as Mahidol University International College, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and Research Institute for Languages and Culture of Asia, agreed to develop staff and student exchange programs in fields of Chinese language and Chinese study with Yunnan University.
