As Thailand’s largest healthcare provider, Mahidol University is supporting the Thai government’s COVID-19 vaccination program by opening a vaccination center at Prince Mahidol Hall, Salaya Campus. The center will begin by providing vaccinations, both Sinovac and AstraZeneca to students and staff, before expanding to the wider local community. The center began the vaccinations on 4th June 2021 and aims to vaccinate everyone by the beginning of July. Prof. Sirirurg Songsivilai, M.D., Ph.D., Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation; visited the vaccination center on 8th June to thank and support the team providing vaccinations.
The vaccination center has brought together staff from across the university to help with the task of ensuring everyone can receive their vaccines quickly and safely. The Golden Jubilee Medical Centre, under Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, and the Faculty of Nursing, have provided nursing staff to give the injections, while staff from a wide range of divisions under the Office of the President, and students from across the university, have been volunteering to facilitate the process of registrations and the logistics of moving everyone through the center.
