MUIR Capacity Building Projects
Mahidol University implements Capacity Building initiatives to support human resource development and enhance the capabilities of learners, practitioners, and target communities both in Thailand and abroad. These initiatives are delivered through scholarships, hands-on training programs, and knowledge transfer activities that address the specific needs of local communities and beneficiaries.
The University also collaborates with international partner organizations on key programs such as the Capacity Building for Myanmar (CBIM) and other initiatives that support refugees and migrant workers. These projects aim to expand access to education, develop essential skills, and empower participants to apply their knowledge to create sustainable, positive change within their communities.
In 2022, Mahidol University focused on developing scholarship programs and foundational skill-building initiatives for learners from neighboring countries, particularly individuals seeking to enhance their academic and research capacities. Efforts during this year emphasized supporting graduate-level education and preparing participants through language training, research skills development, and orientation to an international learning environment.
In 2023, the University expanded its Capacity Building initiatives to include refugees and migrant workers. This included hands-on training programs for volunteer teachers and community volunteers from migrant and displaced communities. The training focused on teaching skills, community management, and local leadership development to improve educational quality for children and youth in border and vulnerable areas.
In 2024, the programs centered on transforming knowledge into sustainable social impact. Activities included knowledge-sharing events, collaboration with international educational institutions and organizations, and the development of new learning platforms and media. These efforts aimed to ensure that participants could apply the skills gained to benefit their home countries and local communities.
In 2025, Mahidol University focused on designing programs that respond more closely to emerging global and regional challenges. These include strengthening digital skills, using technology to enhance education, and developing young leaders among refugee and migrant populations. The University also prioritized expanding strategic partnerships with international counterparts to ensure that its Capacity Building initiatives deliver sustainable outcomes and contribute to broader social transformation.
