On Tuesday 15^th October 2019, Prof. Isak (Sakkie) Pretorius, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research), Macquarie University, Australia, along with Mr. Matt Monkhouse, Director, Southeast Asia & Eurasia Global Engagement & Business Development, and Ms. Kate Roth, Deputy Director, HDR Partnerships and Scholarships, Office of Higher Degree Research Training and Partnerships, held a workshop entitled Synthetic Biology for the Future at Room 217, 2^nd Floor, Mahidol Learning Center, Mahidol University, Salaya Campus.

On this occasion, the Macquarie University delegates had the opportunity to discuss opportunities for research collaboration with lecturers and researchers from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital. Moreover, Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, Acting President of Mahidol University, Prof. Wachira Kochakarn, Acting Vice President for Research and Scientific Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Pattarachai Kiratisin, Director, Institute for Technology and Innovation Management, welcomed Prof. Pretorius and the delegates to a lunch meeting at Music Square restaurant. Prof. Pretorius and the delegates also had the chance to visit and discuss opportunities for collaboration with Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Acting Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication and , Distinguished Professor of Physiology, Director along with lecturers and researchers from the Institute of Molecular Biosciences.
