Mahidol Nature Trail Be Learn More Fun

“Mahidol Nature Trail” is an environmental learning route in Mahidol University. This trail has provided speakers who guide and explain the information to the visitors in a tram, in order that the visitors be attended and learnt the nature, environment and aesthetics of Mahidol University which is the 1st as Thailand’s Most Sustainable University. Moreover, visitors can learn and access this Nature Trail by themselves via a bicycle route.

A1 H.R.H. the Prince Father’s Biography Gallery

The exhibition displays about H.R.H. the Prince Father’s biography and important objects relating to the Prince Father who is regarded as role model and soul of Mahidol Community.

A2 Biodiesel Station

Used cooking oil from the cafeteria is used to produce biodiesel by the transesterification reaction process. Produced alternative fuel can supply for the dumper.

A3 Sireeruckhachati Nature Learning Park

where is a herbs learning center comprising of more than 800 types of herb plants, and services the herb information and an ecotourism place.

A4 Recycle Waste Bank

Software system is used to manage the data of recyclable waste purchasing by starting with the 3Rs concept (reduce, reuse, recycle) leading to the campaign of waste segregation at source.

A5 Bio-compost Station

Yard waste which consist of leaves, twigs, and wheat grass from green area maintaining are collected and composed as aerated pile resulting in bio-compost according to organic farming standards.

A6 Wastewater Treatment Plant

Treatment of wastewater from buildings in Salaya campus by anaerobic biological treatment process (Activated Sludge) in order to obtain treated wastewater according to the law and can be reusable.

A7 Organic farm

Mahidol University in collaboration with the community of Salaya Herb Processing Housewife Group grow organic vegetables on 6,400 square meter of area to encourage learning and consume non-toxic vegetables with reasonable price.
