Dr. Peerapong Santiwong received his DDS degree in 1994 from Mahidol University, Thailand, and his Ph.D in dental science from Tokyo Medical and Dental University in 2001. He is also a Diplomate of the Thai Board of Orthodontics. Dr. Peerapong is currently Director of Dental Hospital and Program Director of the Orthodontic Department at Mahidol University. His research is concentrated on the accelerated tooth movement, orthodontic mini-screw implants, nickel-titanium alloy wires, and software for cephalometric analysis. He is one of the team who developed a cephalometric and model analysis software (CEPHSMILE) which has got an Inventor Prize Mahidol Award 2006 and a Gold Prize from Seoul International Invention Fair 2014.
