Silica aerogel is the world’s best insulating solid material. It is a nanoporous silica with an average pore size less than 100 nanometers. It is ideal additives for existing building, industrial, and coating products. It provides key solutions to common applications such as very high thermal insulation, improved acoustic insulation, moisture and corrosion resistance, weight reduction, wide range of service temperatures and performance will not deteriorate over time. Unfortunately, due to its complex production process, the price of silica aerogel is about $50 – $100 per kilogram which is very expensive for real applications, limiting its use mainly for research and some advanced applications.

Dr.Supan Yodyingyong of Institute for Innovative Learning, Mahidol University has developed a simpler and much cheaper method to produce silica aerogel at an affordable price. With our patent-pending technology, we can produce silica aerogel much cheaper than ever before.
