The virtual Workshop on “Improving Online Teaching and Learning for Academics” under the Mahidol – Macquarie Center for International Education (MCIE)

On Wednesday 19th May 2021, Assoc. Prof. Naeti Suksomboon, Vice President for Academic Affairs, provided opening remarks for the virtual workshop on “Improving Online Teaching and Learning for Academics” and welcomed participants to the first session of the virtual workshop. The first session was delivered by Prof. Garry Falloon, Professor of STEM Education and Digital Learning, and Director of International Engagement at the School of Education, Macquarie University. This continuing workshop is a collaboration between Mahidol University and Macquarie University under the Center for International Education (MCIE). There are 3 upcoming cohorts, scheduled as follows:

The 1st cohort will take place on 19th, 25th May and 2nd and 9th June 2021.

The 2nd cohort will take place on 16th, 23rd, 30th June and 7th July 2021.

The 3rd cohort will take place on 14th, 21st July and 4th, 11th August 2021.

The workshop aims to improve online teaching and learning activities through online curriculum planning, learning design, developing basic multimedia learning, and supporting academics to apply the knowledge learnt to the Learning Management System of Mahidol University.

This is the second year of the virtual workshop, which has already built capacity among over 90 participants across Mahidol University from the three cohorts. The program consists of two elements, featuring online courses in addition to a four-day virtual workshop via Zoom. At the end of the workshop, all participants will receive certificates recognizing their successful completion and the development of their online teaching and learning skills.
