Ph.D in Human Rights and Peace Studies (International Program)
The International PhD Program at the Institute of Human Rights and Peace Studies (IHRP) offers unique learning opportunities for scholars and practitioners to develop excellence in human rights and peace academia and research. Its interdisciplinary approach enables students to investigate the complex and evolving nature of human rights and peace challenges in Asia and beyond. Through our close mentoring and support, our graduates have become successful human rights and peace professionals, leading changes in academia, civil society and the policy arena.
The Program offers two study options: a research only track (with students participating in an advanced research methods course in light of a proven record of previous research and academic publications in international journals) and a course work track. The coursework option consists of 2 semesters of 6 courses, followed by 3 to 5 semesters of research and completing the thesis.
