Ph.D in Human Rights and Peace Studies (International Program)
IHRP offers the only interdisciplinary PhD program in Human Rights and Peace Studies in Asia, and one of few in the world. The program begins with 2 semesters of coursework, followed by 3 to 5 semesters of research and completing the thesis. The program structure is flexible, depending on the applicant’s educational and working background.
The Ph.D in human rights and peace studies offers an invigorate critical thinking on moral, social, political and economic issues; promote intellectual independence of the individual student, and build moral courage to reach a better understanding of our dynamic society. The curriculum, which is one of the few interdisciplinary PhDs in human rights and peace in the world, also aims to enhance the competency of the students to apply their knowledge and skills to effectively respond to regional and global challenges, and to promote peace and respect for human rights through professional service and social engagement.
